Advantages: very light to use, very efficient, beautiful colour!

Disadvantages: , all dyson cylinders should have the turbobrush

i bought the dc08 because my dc01[aged8] had stopped working suddenly.
i was worried about getting another dyson as i have very bad arthritis in my hands, and the dyson tends to be very very heavy.
i was researching various models, and decided to try out the one with the turbobrush as i had heard they are not as heavy to use as a traditional cylinder vac.
i was very very impressed.
the turbo brush makes light work of my muddy house, [ i have 4 children, we have mud and food everywhere]....it is so easy to manouver that i have vacuumed the stairs for the first time in years.
my kids bedrooms are clean at last!! i had been unable to carry my old dc01 up the stairs anymore, so could only use it if i had some help.
the dco8 follows you up the stairs like a slightly reluctant dog!!

i went to a friends house and she has an upright[lightweight] dyson..when i used it i found it awekward and cumbersome, and very painful for my weak hands and wrists.
and the flex kept getting in the way as i have been used to the clean lines of the dco8 pipe , so you dont have to keep moving the flex out of the way.......oh yes..and it has a button to press which retracts the flex too,,,which is marvellous as i HATED winding the blooming flex back on the old machine

the attachments are so easy to get on and off..the height adjusting stick is the most beautifully put together thing i have ever seen, and it should be recommended for people who have weak hands, as it is unbelievably easy to adjust.....surely dyson should be in league with some design people for things for the disabled! they could make life so mcuh easier for us if everything worked so smoothly

haha, because my house has so much rubble in it, it is lovely to see it picks up quite big bits of chips, discarded lego and barbie shoes without first sending them flying accross the room..i have carpet and wooden floors..and now my old broom and dustpan has been put outside!
i v
acuumed the hearth too and was impressed as it didnt blow the soot all over the house as my old dyson did

and of course..it is alwasy a great joy to see just how much filth and dust has been lifted out of your house, and if anyone thinks that as it is so effiecient it must wreck your carpets, then take it from me that my rugs are as good as new and they have had 7 years of dyson cleaning them...EVERY day!![dyson with motorised brush bar]

so if you have weak hands and want to continue to have some independence, and want to have a very clean house, then i thoroughly reccomend the dc08 WITH turbobrush

ps, its also very easy for me to carry up the stairs...i hang the pipe over my shoulder and the bottom bit is quite comfortable to carry...unlike the uprights which are NOT.

by the way i got mine via bargain crazy website, at an incredible £179......!!!

Well, done for a good review. We had the orignal dyson cylinder cleaner, the DC02 and it was a novelty then. Now we have the upright version of yours, the DC07, which is easy for me to use, but i would think that a person with arthritis would find it difficult.
