Advantages: excellent power
Disadvantages: too heavy, expensive
When my mum appeared with her latest gadget in tow wanting to hoover just about everything in sight, I was sceptical. Why on earth had she spent in excess of £100 for a smaller version of something that does the job required? I have to say, I was wrong.
This neat, although slightly ugly... and well designed (in terms of use) piece of kit is small enough to not get in the way but has enough power to suck up just about everything you might need to, and definitely has the quality you'd expect from dyson. The colours, in my opinion, are hideous, the yellow and gray dyson combo has never done a great deal for me, and I would prefer something a bit more neutral.
The product takes approximately two hours to fully charge after an initial battery conditioning (similar to when you get a new phone and overcharge the battery for 12 hours or similar). I would estimate that the running time if left on constantly would be just shy of four *minutes*, which means you can do a lot of little bits of hoovering before it'll run out.
It does make quite a lot noise but I suppose that is the price to pay for something so powerful and is not something I mind. Hoovering is rarely quiet and I suppose this is no exception. If you don't want to wake a sleeping baby though, I wouldn't advise using this product!
The product is very sturdy and of good quality, as if frequently the case with dyson products. I have had no problems with breakages with this particular item but in my experience dyson have also fixed items or even reconditioned items that are no longer available in record time.
It's super easy to empty at more of less of a touch of a button, and all of the controls and extra fittings are easy to locate and use. The charger supplied could be a bit better for the money, for instance, I would prefer a large docking station for it, rather than something that resembles a mobile telephone charger.
One point that I will make is that in comparison to other hoovers this size, it is definitely heavier. I find it quite a strain to use with just one hand, as my wrist strength seems to have let me down! I wouldn't say I was especially weak so this may be a problem many people have.
In conclusion, I would say this is great if you are looking for something with a lot of power. The battery life isn't spectacular, although it wouldn't be that normal to spend four hours on the go with this bad boy, because your wrists would give way! It is worth the money, but only if you can stand the way it looks.
Summary: a great hoover that packs a big punch despite its size

- 09/01/09 Sorry - but this hand held only has a 6 minute running time if used continuously in one go - it can be charged for 3 hours for fast recharging - not to be confused with actual use. |

- 09/01/09 Good review although if it has lasted 4 hours in your experience you should state this - if not, then don't mislead buyers. Other info would be good here such as:
How long does it need for a charge?
What s the running time?
Noisy?
Ge neral quality
