Advantages: Powerful, cutting edge technology, incredible hygienic
Disadvantages: Loud, all surfaces need to be completely cleared of things such as wires, threaded bits of rugs etc
Dyson is a genius invention. It really is the best vacuum around.
Originally, our family always had those really useless, smelly, dusty vacuums, normally blue. And they were terrible. And have so many cats and dogs throughout our lives didn't make it any easier.
We first got a Dyson when they came out and the difference was incredible. Not only did it exceed any other vacuum we'd every tried before, but it notably took care of all the dust and hair and dirt which you just had to cope with before.
The best feature was being able to see how much dirt you were collecting.
The problem with the old Dysons was that the plastic parts tended to break very easily.
However, since we got the new DC18, not only has it proven to be even stronger (although noiser) than the last but it does the job more thoroughly and also looks a whole lot better too.
Just a word of warning to any of you musicians who use studios - watch you wires, mine disappeared up the hoover in less than a second!
Summary: Generally a really fantastic product, worth investing money in.

- 15/03/08 Welcome to Dooyoo! A good start here but could do with a lot more specific info such as:
• The cost of the appliance
• Use of the tools
• Carpet and other floors general performance including any downsides in use.
• Weight and use with the hose.
• This is the Slim model, so its smaller than most Dysons - how does it compare to your older model?
