I wasn't sold on the Dyson hype, but when our old vacuum cleaner gave up I decided it was time to get one - primarily because of the way it looks, I confess. The DC22 is fantastic looking, cute and streamlined and hyper-modern. It comes with an impressive array of kit:

We have mostly laminate floors with some rugs, and the thing is a dream - it literally changed the colour of one of our rugs when I used it for the first time (perhaps we should have replaced the old cleaner sooner....) and needs someone standing on the edge of the rugs so they're not sucked right off the floor. We also have two long haired humans, one baby and one Persian cat in the house and have no problems sucking up all the hair that collects in the corners.

The various tools attach to the body of the cleaner, making it very neat to store in a limited space. The only thing I'd change is that the hose (conveniently long) makes it a bit awkward to put in the cupboard. I've also heard other people say that it needs a separate turbine head to be really effective on carpets, but I can't comment on that.

Summary: Good for laminate floor, less so if you have all carpets.
