Dyson DC24 Multi Floor
Advantages: Durable, Good Suction, Manoeuvrability
Disadvantages: Pricey if you're on a restricted Budget, Colour Scheme not to every ones liking
The Dyson DC24 MultiFloor is the best vacuum cleaner we have ever owned however before you think I am trying to plug it that is not saying too much! In terms of Price it sits in the midway point of the dyson range between the likes of the dear DC24 Animal and the cheaper dyson dc 35 slim animal.
I don't know how it compares to dearer models, I suspect it would be inferior and that it would be superior to cheaper models. Lets go on what I do know about it and that is it turns the corner very well thanks to it be pivoted on a ball rather than the traditional wheels, compared to the old heavy things we used to use it is MUCH more agile and nimble and get into tight spots.
As far as suction goes it does pretty well picking up most dirt and fluff but it seems to struggle with bigger bits of fluff or fluff made of denser material. Sometimes it does get clogged up especially if you ask it to demanding tasks like hovering up a room that has just had the wall paper stripped from it. However after contacting dyson customer support we were able to get it to work again although we ended up having to get them come out and fix the more complicated part of the machine.
Most of our previous vacuum cleaners have broken down with 2 or 3 years but this has been with us for about that long now and is still going strong, further after it briefly was out of action and I had to use an old fashion "Henry" vacuum cleaner I really do appreciate how much easier it is to push a ball around than wheels and how much easier it is for the system to hoover up for you whilst you push it around instead of having to control the suction tube by hand.
The bag capacity for this upright medium sized model is great, it goes at least a week normally before you have to empty the bag-less compartment and cleaning the filters is a simple case of washing them with water after you remove the bag-less compartment from the vacuum and then remove the filter from that compartment.
The cable length is pretty decent too as it allows you to hover all around a room without having to stop your work and unplug and start again, getting the whole wearisome process of doing household chores out of the way quicker and giving you more time to do the things you really want to be getting on with.
The choice of size of this model is completely down to what you want from your product, if you space is your concern then ask for the smallest DC24 which is petite is a little box/circle like thing, if you want to be emptying the vacuum chamber less often go for the medium sized vacuum Cleaner which balances space saving and maneuverability with bag capacity, if your a bit stronger or have more space to clean and more space to store then the larger sized model would be most appropriate which again like the medium sized model has the "classic" vacuum cleaner shape.
The negatives are the price is a little higher than what we would usually spend however given the fact it has lasted longer than any other vacuum cleaner we have had, that it has better suction than any other cleaner I can remember using this leans me to words being inclined to say "go for this product".
If you usually spend more money on a vacuum cleaner than this price range I would definately say that in my opinion this is a relative bargain that does all you need it to and does not feel in the least bit "cheap". It wont cut out on you, and it will suck up the vast majority of things you ask it to clean.
Summary: A decent mid range vacuum cleaner that is something to buy if your used to vacuum cleaners failing
