Advantages: Lightweight.

Disadvantages: Difficult to use. Not good for larger houses.

I've used Dyson hoovers for years, and have always been impressed, however this is the first time a Dyson has left me disappointed.

Firstly, this Dyson is significantly smaller than others, and when purchasing online it's not immediately obvious that this is the case. It's great for small houses, and for older people who need a lighter hoover, but for larger houses with families it fills up ridiculously quickly.

Secondly, Dyson are well known for being the people that make hoovers with GOOD suction. Sadly this one does not live up to the reputation. And it gets worse if it's full. The anti-allergy one has amazing suction, and having used that, this one seems pitiful in comparison. It's good for light cleaning, but not the heavy duty cleaning necessary in a four person house with a dog to contend with too!

The ball is handy as it does make the hoover good for getting around furniture, however it's difficult to maneuver and takes a lot of getting used to, and the suction pipe does just as good a job as this vacuum does!

Summary: Good for smaller houses without pets, but not for houses that require heavy duty cleaning!

Welcome to Dooyoo. A good compact review here although it would be handy to edit your review and update it with a price of how much it costs, weight and noise factors; that would benefit future buyers. If you update your review please message me.

A thought not affected by my rating however:

High street sellers such as John Lewis have their own website that state the differences in size as well as Comet and Argos. I guess it means a world of difference dependent on how much time you put into researching. However the DC24 is a good model on its size and if its been kept reasonably good you could EBay it or fix a price and put it on Gumtree. If you're looking for a large upright, then another larger Dyson would make sense if you're a fan of them. I would go for a Sebo upright or Miele S7 - both use bags but very healthy, well made and relatively fuss free.
