Advantages: Efficient & Light
Disadvantages: Price
I've just purchased my first Dyson cleaner from John Lewis for £184 and all I can say so far is that I am very impressed. Recommended by a family member I decided to go for it and have a bagless cleaner.
Instantly pleased with the 5 year guarantee, the Dyson DC24 Cleaner was superbly packaged and easy to put together. It is virtually dumb proof with all their handy stickers. Registering was simple online but can be done over the telephone or post.
What impresses me most so far is the power of the suction. Commonly discussed as lacking in suction compared to some bagged cleaners, the Dyson has impressive consistent power. I like the idea of being able to see what your sucking up as well and the ability of the ball to allow you to pivot or swerve into difficult areas makes for very quick and efficient cleaning indeed.
If I was to be picky and identify some negative points about the Dyson it would have to be that it's still on the pricey side. OK so you save on the cost of bags in the long term but it is still that initial outlay that may put potential customers off. Also, some of the features/attachments aren't your usual pull out style. There is a system to click, turn rotate and pull which at first seems a bit too technical but you soon get used to it.
Overall I would definately recommend this product and it's weight certainly makes the task of cleaning a breeze!
Summary: Does it's job and more!

- 24/09/09 i have recently bought my first Dyson and wow I wish I had done it earlier.
My friend at work told me about it and I've since made several members of my family buy it.
The 5 year guarantee is brill and easy to register online.
The suction is really good, and picks up everything, and is really easy and light weight to push around.
Down sides - quite expensive - but if it lasts you don't mind paying.
I had abit of trouble with the tool bits for hoovering the stairs - but I've worked out that if I have the dyson on 2 steps below the 2 I' hoovering that seems to work the best.
Its abit fiddly to empty - need to take off all the clear plastic bit off and give it abit of a bang to get all the bits out.
Well worth buying though! |
