Previously I owned a dyson which had lasted around 7 years, it was brilliant. One day it decided to pack up, so me and my girlfriend went shopping for a new one, we got saw this in curries and decided it was the best for our small place. It wasn't as big as my old one and looked very modern and stylish. The nice man in curries really sold this to me, he seemed to know have he was talking about.

Price:

I paid a bargain £189.99 for this. It was the model on sale at the time and now it is much more expensive than the price I paid for it. For a dyson this is good value. I was expecting to be paying around £250. When buying a vacuum cleaner, it always is best to get the best. Dont settle for a cheap model as these will not pick up enough dirt.

Style/functions:

It is a very slender model that has ball technology so that it is much easier to move. It also has a section that collects the dirt so you can empty and clean the section. It is much better than using bags which can be expensive. The dyson also has an extra function which allows for harder suction. To turn the vacuum cleaner on you push the on button and then put your foot on the back which lowers the dyson and starts the suction. it comes with a part which detaches and stretches so you can clean stairs and the ceiling etc.

Does it work?:

It worked very well for me, the suction is great and it really cleans my carpets well. You can see all the dust and dirt it picks up after use which is handy because you know how dirty your home is. It is not very heavy to use, it's very easy to guide around the house and doesn't take much effort to use. It is small so it can fit under hard places and it is flexible too. One of the things that does bug me though is the detachable suction, the actual tube is very stiff and when cleaning the stairs you alomost feel as if it is going to pull you back down the stairs. Maybe after more use it will become loose, this is the only thing that I can complain about at the moment. This also works well on hard flooring, our kitchen gets a lot of crumbs and this picks it all up! Brilliant :)

This gets a 5 star rating from me. I love my new dyson! The price was great for me, I would even pay more for it as I have had no issues and it cleans all the floors in the house, I would get another dyson in the future as I feel these are the leading brand at the moment.

Differences to my old model:

The cylinder is actually a lot smaller, so it does hold less dirt. I don't see this being a problem though. It just means that I must empty it more often. The smaller size means it can fit in smaller gaps around the house, such as inbetween cupboards. What I like most is the fact that you can get under tables with this, its flexible, my old dyson was rather large. Although I like the smaller size, I think the old one picked up more dust. It's not as powerful. I can also tell you that the noise is very loud, it is not the nicest sound, it's sounds like it Is growling. The thing which makes this better than any vacuum cleaner I have used before is the way you can handle it, when pushing it you will not have to put a lot of effort in! In the past I have has a dead arm after vacuuming the entire house, this is much more effortless. And I appreciate that! The last little annoying feature is the way it leaves your carpet looking...you get horrible lines! My old one looked nice, this isn't the best.
