Advantages: Compact, powerful, high dust capacity and large battery life.

Disadvantages: Expensive - usually retails between £90 - £110

I've had my Dyson DC30 for about 6 months now and have never looked back! I was initially reluctant to buy it due to the high price, but my girlfriend was insistent so I eventually caved...and I haven't looked back! As is standard with the Dyson line of products, the DC30 has awesome suction power and can be used for a variety of chores. As well as conventional tasks, I've also used it for cleaning filthy blinds & curtains, hoovering dirty celings and removing trodden-in-dirt from carpets.

But what makes this Dyson so effective is the maneuverability it provides for cleaning around obstacles and hoovering stairs. Not to mention how invaluable it becomes when the car needs hoovered! What's more, the battery is 14.8V (on top of a 0.35litre compressed dust capacity) so you wont be running back and forth to re-charge or empty it every half hour. And when you do eventually have to re-charge, it takes a fraction of the time than an average portable hoover! Brilliant!

Summary: A must-have tool for any household - small and mighty!
