When I was recently looking into purchasing a new vaccuum cleaner, I knew that I was going to go for a Dyson. I was unsure which product of theirs to go for but when I saw this vaccuum was made specifically for hair, I knew this would be the one. Between my long hair and the animal hair, it was going to have it's work cut out for it.

The Product

The animal cleaner has all of the Dyson innovations, the bagless technology, the cyclone technology and the newest adaptation, the ball for ease of moving. The vacuum is purple and silver in colour and is a cylinder vacuum. It comes with several attachments (the usual brushes and precision tools and the special animal accessory pack which include a mini turbine head with a brush inside for cleaning animal hair in confined spaces) The main selling points of this vacuum are the fact it is specially designed to clean up animal hair and it comes with a special HEPA filter to trap spores and allergens which is ideal for allergy sufferers. It is usually priced for around £280.

The Review

The DC39 is a very good cleaner, as you would expect from a Dyson. It does everything you would expect from this brand. The suction is excellent, picking up even unseen dust. I never realised how much dust my old vacuum was missing until I used this for the first time! I have both carpet and hard floors and this performs equally well on all my surfaces.

The ball technology is a time saver as the vacuum can be manouvered round easily and can reach into the hardest to get to places. It is also excellent for cleaning stairs as the vacuum is specially designed to rest on stairs making it much easier to clean as there is no stretching the hose from the bottom of the stairs.

As with all Dysons, this is amazingly easy to empty. You just unclick the dust bin part and when over the place you wish to empty it, it is just a simple matter of pressing one button and giving a little shake.

The main selling point of this vacuum is obviously the animal hair cleanup. This cleaner manages to pick up every hair, even my long hair. It can get stuck in the brush but this is just a simple job of removing the brush and picking the hair out. The attachments are also good, there is a good variety. Obviously not everyone will use them all but they have catered for a lot of eventualities.

This vacuum, although expensive, works out good value for money when you take into account the efficient cleaning and the money saved on bags etc over the lifespan of the cleaner. I can't fault this and would definitely recommend it for people who have animals and/or allergies.
