When our last Dyson broke we vowed not to buy another. They are expensive and we expected our other one to last more than three years. When we looked around though, other brands seemed lacking in either power or function. So we delayed a few more days and then thought, well three years of use, perhaps two or three times a week was not too shabby. So instead of another upright cleaner we went for the DC20. The reason we went for this model was that it would be easy to store. We shopped around online and managed to get a good deal from Curry's... I cannot recall the price, but they almost matched the online price with some cajouling.
So, unpacking was easy. The first thing that was really pleasing is just how small this packs down to. As you can see in the picture you wrap the bendy hose around the cleaner body and clip in the plastic hose and it is done. There is even a holder on the back for the main brush. To use the cleaner, you unwind the flexible hose, extend the metal shafts from the rigid part of the hose and snap in the cleaner head. The head is powered, so the brushes whizz around inside to aid in the picking up of hairs from your carpet. Or, you can push this little plunger in the side of the brush and the brushes stop spinning, ideal for solid floors to avoid scratching.
In with our deal we also got the stand crevice tool for getting into tight spaces, an upholstery brush, a laminate floor brush (very soft and works well) and a half width powerhead brush too. The cleaner is very powerful, sucks up and amazing amount of dirt and is so easy to use. Emptying is easy too. They even claim that the air that is filtered out of this thing is cleaner that the air that is sucked in... well, I haven't tested that part, but it doesn't smell too bad.
Well worth the money, very powerful, the King of Vacs.
A fantastic hoover which I would highly recommend. We have a tiny house and a very hairy dog! It fits nicely in any small cupboard but still has all the power a large up right hoover would have. It comes with many extra brushes although I don't use them much but the two main heads are great, your usually sized one and then a smaller sized one which is handy when doing the stairs. It picks up hairs brilliantly which is great when you have a small one crawling round. This hoover is bagless so although it is expensive you save those pounds later on with not buying any bags and lets face who hates fighting with the hoover trying to get the new bag on. Once you have emptied it, it is easy to put back together. And the biggest bonus of all I found was the boyfriend found it cool and even didnt mind using it! You can't go wrong!
bagless - so no endles money spent on bags.
Also its so compact it fits in a small cupboard... so no excuses for not having a vacuum cleaner!!
its quite light, so its not too heavy to be pulling up the stairs to do the kids rooms...
its really powerful aswell.. even picks up my St bernards dog hairs - which has been a nightmare in the past. not once has it clogged on me yet which is always a good sign!!
its easy to wrap around itself so you have no loss tubes hanging around ready for someone to trip over.
the main features i like about it are :
compact - easy to store
no loss of suction - meaning no taking apart half the hoover to find a penny stuck in the pipe
no bags - no more cost!
picks up ALL animal hair without blocking!!
tube long enough to go up the stairs
light so easily portable!!! (all you need is a plug!!! hehe)
quite pretty... not a big heffa ugly one lol.
The informative bit - its 1400watt... has a 21.33 foot cord... and also weighs nearly 19 pounds... so its not too heavy. But possibly too heavy for someone with weak wrists - but there is no need to pick this machine up unless you are brining upstairs!
Nice piece of equipment and is quieter than my last dyson standup vacuum cleaner...
it holds 2 litres of dirt and grime - so dont have to change it too much!
very good vacuum cleaner - if there is such a thing... who likes cleaning ehh?!!
But it is perfect for keeping a show home looking house!
