The HEPA filter also appears to keep the dust ect down too which in our modern world is a real plus. I paid a fortune for a Dyson cylinder/canister vacuum, and their slogan is right on..."it never stops sucking." So true! The vacuum sucks alright! It is the worst vacuum I have ever owned. It is flimsily made. I had to replace the motor head four times. Everything goes wrong with it, often. It is messy to empty, or clean, and heavy to carry, getting even more awkward since the flimsy handle broke as well. I bought it four years ago and I will never buy or recommend a Dyson machine ever again.
