My nearly new vacuum had finally given up! (Think it was getting rid of all the spiders in the shed that killed it!) And my old upright vacuum has a tendancy to fall over when it feels like it.... but still works. So I was in need of one that I could keep upstairs as my old one had taken it rightful place back downstairs. After looking at countless Dysons and other expensive models I happened upon this one purely by chance.... in Tesco's of all places. £24.97 for a sweet little vacuum! It couldn't be true! The box said it weighs less than 7lbs, so I picked it up and plonked it in my trolley! It is made by Electrolux.... a name I trust as it seems all my vacuums so far have been theirs. Even my lawnmowers have been theirs! So I knew it should be a good vacuum (despite my bagless one self destructing after the spiders!) When I got it home, I had to start playing with it. It assembled very easily, as all I had to do was put in the hose! On the hose itself is a clip to keep the attachments, these being a brushy type affair to basically dust with and a nozzley one for those corners. It comes with a big carpet one too but this doesn't have a little clip as it goes on the end of the hose. Soon I was busy vacuuming my bedroom and then I put on the dusting attachment and started on my bookshelves..... this was fun, but I wasn't about to do the whole house! It was getting a bit hot (my bedroom was a bit in need of a good vacuum) so I stopped and let it cool down a bit before I shoved it away in what used to be an airing cupboard but is now a general toot cupboard. It took up hardly any room at all, which I was really pleased about as I have a lot of toot :oP It is very easy to use as it is very light and the hose is long enough to get everywhere I wanted it to go. And it dusted my books! What more could I want! A few days later it came to stairs cleaning time, so rather than use my old faithful,
but floppy, upright, I took this back out of the cupboard and gave it a go. It is small enough to fit on each stair... not that it needed to as I was holding it in one hand while I vacuumed away with the other. Soon my stairs were spotless and I was not suffering from a bad back which normally happens after doing the stairs. The bag is only little as the machine is only little, after the bedroom and stairs it needed emptying... me being a tight wad just emptied it and put it back again. It does come with a spare bag though and more can be bought. Changing the bag was easy as the front bit of it comes off and that is where the bag is. All in all I think I got a real bargain as it is a great little vacuum. I know the bagless type are the ones everyone goes for at the moment, but seeing as the mini versions of those are so expensive I can't see the fascination, when I am sure they can't do much more than my little £25 one does! It comes with a years warrantee and the option of increasing this to 3 years for an extra £18.80, but I don't think I will worry seeing as a new one isn't that expensive! Happy cleaning! Sarah :o)
