Advantages: great hoover and every bit as good as the Dyson

Disadvantages: Filter prices

Ok as you may have noticed this is in the wrong catergory but 1373 is pretty much the same hoover (as they both have the same instruction manual)

When I bought the Electrolux Stairmaster (Z1379) with true hepa filtration I was a little dubious as previously I had a Dyson DC01 which provided a few years of reliable service (almost, but thats another opinion) and I really didn't think it would be as good. With four kids, a dog and two cats and a freind who brings her white German Shepard in a few times a week I needed a hoover that could handle pet hairs, ground in crisps and general household dirt with ease, and beleive me this hoover can do that without any problem. It has a powerful 1400 watt motor with six carpet pile settings, a wide selection of on board tools which allow the cleaning of upholstery as well as carpets and a long hose attachtment that will easily reach all the way up stairs without moving the hoover and a nice finishing touch is the backsaver handle and the unit being not too heavy.

The disadvantages with this hoover are the filter prices, the hepa filter costs £20 and needs to be replaced every six months at the most, and the system also has two other
filters which need replaced every few months (priced at £10 for a box of three sets, which will last about a year). I have found that I have to empty the hoover more often than I did with the Dyson as the collection container is smaller. Yet I think that the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages and it is more than £50 cheaper than the cheapest Dyson.

After using it for a few months around the home I am more than happy with my hoover, although if I had to purchase another I would go for a model with permanent filters, but this is a powerful machine which has kept my carpets in tip top condition. Compared to the Dyson, which I previously owned, this hoover is just as good if not better, and since its a good bit cheaper and it is still in great condition, which
is more than could be said for the Dyson DC01 after the same period of time (which had £50 worth of repairs done to it within the first 6 months), I will be sticking with the Electrolux cyclone range from now on.

We have just bought our second Hoover 'Vortex' upright for £99.90 from Curry's.

One for downstairs and one for upstairs (they are bloody heavy !!!).

No Bags and No filters to change (Even the Hepa Filter can be cleaned). An opinion on this Model (2010) will follow as soon as a category is created for it.
