Advantages: Reliable, Efficient, Maintainable

Disadvantages: Cleaning

Today, the vacuum cleaner is an essential part of the home appliances portfolio. While our relative relied on beating dust from carpets and sweeping, we live in a world of magical suction that can remove even the most resistant particles.
No one enjoys cleaning. It is one of those chores that are required yet it is never savoured. We all like a nice clean house. We all want a nice clean house so it?s therefore an idea to make this as painless and effective as possible.
Painless in the procedure and on the pocket.

This is where the Electrolux Cyclone becomes a sensible choice when buying a new Vacuum.

Electrolux is well known in the world of Vacuums but it is only one avenue of a wide range of products that it builds. As well as the excellent range of cleaners it produces, it also has an extensive and varied range of refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers and tumble driers.

Electrolux was formed in 1912 after its founder, Axel Wenner-Gren built the first Electrolux vacuum cleaner, the Lux 1. By the mid 1920's, there were factories in both England and France producing popular units for both markets. Soon after factories began appearing in America, Australia and other parts of Europe. By the 1960's, the Vacuum had become common in all homes with it becoming more affordable and accessible by more people.
With competition from Dyson, Hoover and Numatic, it still strives to be a leader in the marketplace.

The Cyclone Vacuum by Electrolux draws on many years of development, research and knowledge to build one of the most comprehensive ideas available today.

Bagless system.
Using the new concept of "Bagless" technology, the Cyclone proves to be one of the most efficient and reliable vacuums around.
The traditional system relied heavily on removable bags to collect the dust and debris collected by the vacuum. This was then removed and thrown.
The bag would reduce the efficiency of t
he vacuum as it became full and cause it to overheat. This put extra strain on components as well as not picking up as well. The replacement bags were also a cost the owner could live without.
So the Cyclone uses this bagless system to maintain an even performance throughout its lifespan. When it becomes full, it can be quite an adventure emptying it. This is probably its only negative aspect. Trying to get the contents in the dustbin without an accident can prove taxing.

Suction.
This is provided to the vacuum by an internal Cyclone created by the wide drum and sealed container. The forced generated in such a large area and focused through the wider airways to the narrow collector ensure unbeatable suction. This is how the vacuum gets its name. You can actually see this in action through the Perspex front to the vacuum.

Casing.
Attractive see through design is handy for spotting when the cleaner is full. It is rigid and strong and well suited for a harsh life of bouncing down the stairs and being dragged into doorframes. The Wheels are free flowing so it will follow you with ease. Its compact low level shape means it does not take up too much space when storing either.

Attachments.
With the vacuum come all of the usual attachments that you would expect. The long aluminium Extension pole fits into the Upholstery brush, the carpet Brush, the flatbed carpet cleaner and the narrow nozzle perfectly.

Filters.
The Cyclone comes with 2 filters that are designed to last the lifespan of the vacuum. These are washable and are situated in the body and motor of the Cyclone and easily accessible for cleaning. Once cleaned, the filters return the performance of the Cyclone to showroom specification. The filters also help in noise reduction which keeps this cleaner nice and quiet.

Price.
Retailing at around £115 for the compact floor level version or £100 for the upright, it is a very good value cleaner with unbe
atable performance.

Review.
A good buy. Well worth its money and great service. One that will last and great service from its bagless system.
