The Electrolux XI0 1013 is a funky looking compact cylinder vacuum cleaner in fashionable "ergonomic" styling. It has a powerful 1300 watt motor inside and has no trouble in making a clean sweep of any room. Being so compact, it has only enough room for a 2.5 litre dust bag, so will need regular emptying. It does have a five stage microfiltration system, though, which is useful in reducing dust and pollutants in the air. It only weighs 4.1kg, has a 5m cable length and boasts a low noise output of 78db! It also has a handy carrying handle on the top. The XIO is let down, though, by a few things. Firstly, the tubes are a flimsy plastic that seem to wobble and bend when being used. Secondly, the cleaner head is not at all smooth and makes cleaning hard work as you struggle to push it along the carpet. And thirdly, there is no automatic cord-rewind on the machine, meaning that you have to manually feed the cord back into the top of the cylinder. The XIO is not the best compact cleaner on the market. It is priced at £39 whereas the Morphy Richards Jazz is only £34.50 and far better equipped.
