Advantages: Cheap.
Disadvantages: Filter needs cleaning VERY frequently! Hose too short. Small bin. Fairly heavy
Good suction from this cleaner. Easy to use, easy to push around. Not too noisy either. Bin could do with being abit bigger, but no real hassle to empty it, easy peasy really. The hose, fully stretched, only reaches up to the 9th stair. Oh, and its quite heavy for the little woman to lug up the stairs.
HOWEVER, this machine has, for me anyway, 1 monumentally huge drawback for which I could never recommend it. The filter.
You see, for the past 3 years I had been spoilt by Dyson whereby I only had to clean the filter once every 6 months. I tend to vacuum 2-3 times per week on average. But with this Electrolux, the sponge filter becomes clogged after a weeks worth of use and the suction reduces drastically! It'll barely pick up anything, and when it does, within a few seconds it'll have spat it back out onto the carpet! After spending approx 25 minutes to vacuum a lounge which normally takes around 7 mins to do, I give up. I felt like throwing the thing through the window. It really stressed me out.
After a quick wash of the filter and an overnight stay in the airing cupboard (the filter, not me!), refitting the cleaned filter restores good suction.........................but only for a short while.
You have been warned!
UPDATE: After 4 months, I can no longer take the performance of this machine. I am now, since yesterday, the relieved and proud owner of a Dyson DC14 with standard 5year warranty. Wished I'd bought it after my other Dyson went popbang in December instead of the ElectroSUCKS.
Summary: Save your money and time and use a dustpan and brush instead.

- 14/04/07 Nar2, they are one and the same model of vacuum. When searching by clicking VACUUM CLEANERS/ELECTROLUX/UPRIG HT, a list of 29 is displayed. My original review is not contained within this list(???). But the A2955AZ is listed there, so I simply pasted my original review onto it (whats the point of bothering to write a review if people cannot see/find it!!!!!!???????) Hence the dupicated review.
HOWEVE R, if you search through ALL Electrolux models (72 shown) then the A2955AZ AND the A2955AZ Petlover both appear in that list of 72, even though they are the same vacuum cleaner, they are NOT 2 separate models.
So doing a search on an Electrolux upright cleaner will NOT display all available reviews for that genre. DOOYOO, you need to sort this silly anomaly out.
Quote: "Not all Electrolux models are bad".
Who said they were??? I'm just reviewing this one.
Hope this helps........... zzzzzz |
