I have had this vacuum cleaner for almost 3 years now and have had mixed experiences. I paid about £100 for this vacuum from John Lewis.
Generally it is a good solid cleaner with 2000W suction power. It is a cylinder cleaner with a pretty long hose and extendable metal pole connecting the brush head and the hose. The extendable metal pole makes storage alot easier as it contracts to about 70cm long. This feature also allows the length of the pole to be adjusted while in use, ideal to adjust it to a comfortable height for the user. It also comes with two accessories, one for fabrics and another for getting into those small spaces. The only downside here is that these two accessories are stored on a very flimsy attachment on the main pole itself. Needless to say this isnt very practical when using the vacuum cleaner and also means that the slightest knock makes them fall off - i've resorted to leaving them in the cupboard until i need them. It also has a retractable cord (which is pretty standard) and a sliding switch to adjust the power.
This vacuum cleaner is pretty small. It is bagless, which has the advantage of lower costs in the long run, but the dust container only has a 2ltr capacity (according to the tech specs). In reality this means that i need to empty the dust container every 2 or 3 times i vacuum a small 1 bed flat. For someone with a larger house it is likely that they would need to empty this more frequently.
I have also found that the filter gets clogged very easily, especially with pet hair which does significantly reduce the suction power. I find that (with two cats) the pet hair does seem to significantly reduce the suction power of this vacuum. Before i had cats i didn't really notice a drop in performance unless the dust container was full.
My biggest issue with this cleaner is that the suction power seems to be far below that of a my previous Miele vaccum and seems to reduce further over time the filter gets clogged with pet hair easily.
My conclusion - this was a great little vacuum cleaner for everyday use before i had pets, i wasn't expecting it to be the best available given the price but it did a good job. Now i have pets i am actively thinking about replacing it as it loses suction quickly with the build up of pet hair and doesnt pick up anywhere near as much pet hair as i would expect.
