The Electrolux ZCX6202 vacuum cleaner ticked all the right boxes for me; its light weight, little effort is used in carrying it up and down stairs. Its compact, fits neatly away in my cupboard and the cord rewind mechanism is great and reliable. It has a long cord, which allows me to plug in and vacuum all the way down the stairs.
