Advantages: Small, light weight, powerful, dirt cheap
Disadvantages: Small bag, expensive refil bags
This is an incredible little bit of kit. For just thirty pounds you get a colorful vacuum cleaner with excellent suction and all the accessories you'll ever need to keep your floors clean and tidy. Finished in tough red and black plastic with a cheerful smiley face appearance, the compact device makes short work of even the biggest piles of dust. There are two small buttons on the body which are designed to be foot operated. One controls the internally stored power cable (which comes complete with rubber plug) and the other switches the machine on and off. There is a dinky handle which folds flush with the body when it is not being used. The full-sized nozzle comes in several parts and can be dismantled for ease of storage or in order to shorten its length for stairs, etc. The vacuum comes complete with instruction manual (although you don't really need to even look at this to get started), 2 refil bags (one already installed inside), curtain/upholstery brush attachment and short nozzle for stairs. I've looked on the internet and I think that the bags are a little expensive (£5-95 for 5 on one site) but you get an awful lot of cleaner for your cash when you buy this one. I've always wanted a Dyson, but I really wonder if it's necessary now I've got this at a fraction of the price. Probably the best bit of kit I've bought for a while. Well worth the £29-95 I paid at Tesco.
