Henry Numatic cleaner, model number HVR 200. You will recognise it as soon as you see it, because it has a smiley face, this comes in four colours, red green blue and yellow, Now they have added another model to the range - PINK - Technically this is called HETTY, but it's identical otherwise.

The shape is cylindrical, but not laid down, it is upright, like a barrel, and it has a rubber ring surrounding it, which does not mark walls. I'is mounted on castors, and so it's easy to move around.

As for suction, I will say it is brilliant, the cable is wound up neatly into it's own drum, all the tools are there, the machine itself being light enough to be carried upstairs, what more could you want?

There is a down side, but not much of one, for example it is not easy to vacuum the stairs because you need to balance the cleaner on the step, and hold it with your leg. You also find that the bag (if you use one) is quickly filled, although it does hold nine litres of dust. This cleaner is also rather industrial looking, but that is about your lot.

Weighing under seven Kilos, this plastic cleaner, has 1200 watts of suction power. The hose is 2.4 metres in length, and the cable reaches 10 metres. The usual nozzles, brush, plus the obligatory crevice tools are included.

The warranty is for two years, and the instruction manual is very good. These are Made in Britain, by Numatic International, in Somerset actually, I know, there are some Scrumpy filled workers there.

The cheapest I have noticed these, is under £75 which I think us a bargain, bearing in mind it will last you a lot of years. I have actually seen these for sale for a gigantic £138! and hope nobody has paid even near to that.

I usually list contact details, spares, repair locations etc. but in this case, just go on the website.

I recommed these to all, having used them on a regular basis at work.

Summary: A very good general purpose cleaner, cheap too.

Please pull the mains lead out fully, otherwise the wire will gererate heat and melt. This applies to all electric cables, especially extension leads.
