Advantages: Kid's love him and you can't help but get attached yourself...
Disadvantages: Annoying bag changing!
Firstly I have to admit, I do not have this hoover at home, only at work...but I can assure you I do A LOT more hoovering at work than at home, I work in a nursery and the children love this hoover, if it wasn't a good hoover which it most certainly is...I think I'd still use it if only to hear the excited squeals of 'Henree da hoova!' whenever it's gotten out - which as I've said before is a lot.
One good thing about this hoover...and I know this is sad but you really do develop a bond with him, I can honestly tell you there is not a single nursery nurse in my workplace who doesn't gentle coax him with phrases like 'come on Henry!' as they drag him along-and this isn't just to make the kids laugh either although it does, very much.
but, on to the technical side of things, I have already stressed we use him a lot, but, the hoover we had before packed up because of this strain. Admittedly we haven't had Henry as long but he's still fighting the good fight and I think in general Henrys are made more for industrial use as they are so reliable.
it is relatively quiet sounding which makes you feel it's not doing it's job so well but it has incredible suction...I really think it's better than for example, a dyson.
It has two settings for hi and lo (although we never really use it on lo) and also a flick lever on the head (or nozzle attachment as really the head has got to be the painted face bit surely!) which switches it from the regular carpet setting to a lino and other hard floor setting. this whole bit comes off as well so you can use it for those nooks and crannys!
It is quite easy to manoeuvre except when it's heavy, again this feels quite often at work but i'm positive it wouldn't need changing nearly as often at home. Which brings me to my next point changing the bag...this is actually a bit of a hassle and there are some hoover which don't have bags which I think is probably better it has this kind of latex ring you have to stretch around the opening of the 'inner nose' kind of like putting a condom on! - another great laugh for us immature nursery nurses as you may imagine! however henry comes with a cute little henry face red canvas carrier to store the hoover bags in.
It has a very efficient windy up handle on top of henrys head which retracts the lead after you've pulled out how much you want (there's plenty of cable) and finished the job. and also a handle to carry him by.
He also has wheels you can drag him along by if you don't want to carry him and this adds to his character as he trundles along behind you eager to sniff up some crumbs!
The price of Henry is in the region of 120 pounds if you buy online.
NB I am aware that I have used the brand name Hoover as my word for vacuuming - doesn't really seem right in a review for A Numatic vacuum cleaner but I can't help it it's just how I was brought up. Despite never even owning a 'Hoover' vacuum.
Summary: A very reliable, durable and strong Vacuum.

- 16/02/09 Not a bad review either from a new member, so welcome anyway! Some good info here although knowing how long a bag lasts would be good as well as researching online prices or finding out how much Henry for you cost. You could add this missing info to your review as it will help inform future buyers.
