Henry HVR200 Micro
Advantages: Tough and very effective
Disadvantages: Cost of replacement bags
When I first saw this advertised I assumed the micro meant it was a smaller version of the standard Henry vacuum cleaner that is so popular with commercial cleaning companies and builders however when I looked into it I discovered that actually the micro was short hand for a thing called the Microtex filtration system which is meant to make the Henry even more effective at removing dust and helping alleviate or prevent harm from those with dust allergies.
I paid £79.99 for mine from Dixons in a sale they were having and it is a great little work horse that smiles at you all the time, no matter how happy it is though the fact that I hate vacuum cleaning so much it does not rub off on me. Despite this I cannot falut how effective it is at removing dirt from my carpets and floors, also it is a lot less heavy than the Dyson we also had which is a bit of a beast.
The hose provides 2m of reach which is plenty for me, I was not sure about using a cylinder as I find that they can be a bit bulky and a pain to manouveur but the Henry is surprisingly nifty and quite easy to control and it weighs in at 6.6kg. The cable is 10 metres long so it is good for doing the stairs and you can see why it gets used by commercial companies with such a big range.
The bags are not cheap to replace but with a 7.7 litre capacity and the fact that my house is not huge and with no pets it does last a long time before you need to change it. It canme with a dazzling array of attachments as well some of which left me wondering what they are actually for but there is everything you would need to handle any cleaning requirement.
These are well built sturdy little work horses that can take a bit of rough handling and still do a good job. Not teh quietest hoover I have ever come across but still one I would highly recommend.
Summary: Good vacuum
