Advantages: Well-made, reliable, good at cleaning variety of surfaces, value, cute face!
Disadvantages: Not bagless
Having previously worked in retail and office environments, I was attracted to Henry because I had come across him being used day in day out in large spaces, on different floor types, and with lots of dust, fluff etc. He always seemed a reliable chap, and looked good without being flashy. I had never encountered any damaged Henries, which seemed to put it ahead of another, flashier, well-known and expensive vacuum cleaner brand which several friends have and I had seen their non-Henries have broken attachments and plastic fittings.
I have had this model of Henry for years now, and was inspired to write this review because he is so darned good! We have never had any reliability or performance issues - the suction is consistently great, it works well on both carpets and laminate or vinyl (simply adjust the button on the head to suit the floor type). It has loads of attachments which are great for all those other bits e.g. upholstery, stairs etc (and some I have no idea what to clean with - husband? kids?)... It manouvers well into corners and under the sofas, beds etc. When the big head won't fit, the little head will usually do the job, so a quick swap is all you need.
Everything about the Henry is well-built, sturdy and made to last. That is its biggest pro - the technology is not gimmicky but it is steadfast, reliable a and does its job really well. It has a wind-up power cord mechanism which always works great to store the power cord safely and neatly. It is easy to carry by the handle, and easy to pull around the room (although it occasionally tips over if I am a bit too enthusiastic when pulling it along!)
I suppose one negative is that it is not bagless. However, the capacity of the bags is very good - we only change ours about twice a year, and they are inexpensive. They are easy to change too.
Now for the important bit..... Henry has such a cute face! Doesn't affect the performance, obviously, but it does make us smile :-)
Summary: Very highly recommended - consistently fab, we love it!
