Advantages: Does an excellent job, Solid build, Gets most the moisture back up

Disadvantages: Heavy, Dirty tank fills fairly fast

Ok, scenario: two cats, one of which is prone to peeing by doors (don't ask), a 2 year old son, 2 prams, no entrance mat, and a pale beige carpet... Nasty near black smelly patches by front door. I mean bad.
Checked out a few reviews of rival makes for around £200, was wary of poor build quality reviews. Spotted this chunky looking hoover in an independant store in town. Got it home. Vacumed hall in preperation... Filled chunky hoover (yes it's heavy!), with fluid (now it's very heavy!!) and started on the near black carpet.
WOW. 30 mins later, have a near new looking carpet. No cat smells! Happy wife! And the carpet is amazingly dry! I did a few extra dry passes to pull out the fluids, and it was just slightly damp to the touch after 10 mins.... WOW!
And urgh... Don't even think about pouring the dirty tank down the kitchen sink!
Haven't tried the stair / upholstry bit yet... but that's not why we got it.
