Advantages: None

Disadvantages: Unstable, poor build quality, fast loss of suction

This is quite possibly the worst vacuum cleaner I have ever come across. I made this purchase a year ago, without doing my usual amount of research. What a mistake. Initially, the vacuum is impressive, it cleans well, to the edges and the turbo brush worked brilliantly on the stairs. However, things started to go wrong quickly. If you're cleaning the whole house, you'll need to empty the dust bin at least twice a day - its capacity is very small. The fliters clog very easily, so you loose suction quickly, and it is not a speedy task to clean them. The turbo brush housing is weak and cracked within a week of use, and the belt snapped within the first month. The retailer didn't want to know, Hoover replaced the belt. The kickdown then broke, and has never been the same - the head of the machine now always pops down. One of the wheels snapped and fell off - had to send off and pay for a replacement part. The unit is also very unstable, it will fall over very easily. A terrible product, avoid at all costs. Do yourself a favour and pay a bit of extra money for a Sebo. After a year of this Hoover, I couldn't live with it anymore, bought myself a Sebo X4 Extra and now vacuuming is easy again!

Summary: Although initially performs well, it doesn't take long to see the flaws in this vacuum cleaner.

Yep another consumer's report of how Hoover has ripped them off. No surprise here - the Dust Manager is one of the worst vacuums on the market and there are so many reviews about this particular brand its no wonder the company had to look to Dirt Devil to find its latest uprights
