We bought this hoover 3 in one carpet cleaner after our children came along and ordinary vacumimg could not cope with the spilt juice, ice lollies, playdoh paints and everything else that kids chuck at your carpets.

Ease of use

The machine came with clear instructions on how to set up for both washing the carpet and normal dry vacuming, also included when we bought it were two dust bags and one bottle of the carpet shampoo.
It is straightforward to change from wet to dry just a matter of changing the accessories and adding/removing the dust bag depending on whether you are shampooing or dry hoovering.
The hoover is very bulky and quite heavy and a bit hard to move around smaller rooms,
The power cord is very long meaning you do not have to constantly unplug when going from room to room.

Performance

The cleaner does a good job both on wet and dry modes and has very good suction power, the carpets were better looking after one dry vacum.
The shampooing feature really does make a great difference to the carpets the warm water and soap mix is fed through plastic tubing and sprayed on the an area the head is then used to rub in the mixture the press the nozel to suck up the excess water.

Emptying the bucket is easy just two large clips to take the top off the machine and the buckets twists out to be poured away.
You would not belive the colour of the water after an average sized room is shampood.

Really does make the carpets come up like new, the carpet is still a bit damp after so it is best to let it dry out before using the room too much, takes about 12 hours till totaly dry.

For dry vacuming the cleaner performs well and comes with all the attachments that any normal hoover has, crevice tool, small brush, curtain/soft furnishing tool.
The suction is very good and the large floorhead can be used on carpet or hard floors.

Storage

This is a BIG machine so takes up quite a bit of space also having no onboard storage you need somewhere to store all the attachments as well.

Availabity of bags and shampoo

The shampoo is easy to come by and you do not need to buy a specific one as long as you buy one for use on machines rather than by hand we buy it from the supermarket for around £5 per bottle which will do livingroom, 3 bedrooms hall and stairs twice.

The bags are not easy to come by you can get them direct from hoover for around £6 for 5 bags but they are very hard to come buy anywhere else.

Overall this is good machine for shampooing but a little too bulky and heavy to use daily as a vacum cleaner, it did come in handy when our upright cleaner broke down it meant we could still vacum.
