Advantages: Amazing suction.
Disadvantages: The pet hair attachment doesnt work
I have had this cleaner for around 6 months and can not rave about it enough. Firstly it is fairly light weight, it glides effortlessly and basically does what it is meant to do.
I purchased this vacuum cleaner for the simple reason, I have two cats and a daughter with long hair, the collection of hair that accumulates in my house is astounding. The last vacuum I had didnt suck up dirt let alone hair, human or otherwise. I was looking for a vacuum that didnt break the bank but actually worked as well.
This vacuum comes with two lengths of pipe, a brush attachment and a pet hair collecter. The pet hair collecter is an attachment that attaches to the pipe at the back of the vacuum. There is a dial at the front of the hoover with different settings:
Luxury carpet and tool mode
Short carpet and hard floor
Intensive carpet clean
Once you have changed the dial to the tool setting and connected the pet hair attachement, it sounds like an plane is taking off. however once you start to brush it over chairs etc to collect the pet hair, it tends to stop working, it has a whirling wheel that collects hair, but any connection to fabric or chairs etc, it gives up, no matter how gently you use it.
I have not used the hard floor setting or the medium setting as have mainly long carpets, but if they work as well as the long carpet setting, you will have no problems with it.
The long carpet setting works extremely well and the suction will pick up pretty much anything in its path, it does struggle with hair though.
The Intensive carpet clean setting is a godsend. I hoovered my daughters bedroom carpet with our now redundant old vacuum, then used this one, it actually picked up the carpet and left lines in the weave due to the immence suction. I no longer have to worry about picking up her hair as this does it with no grumbles at all, it doesnt get stucj round the brushes underneath either. I had to empty the cylinder after hoovering her room due to the sheer amount of dust and hair it collected.
It is very easy to empty, click on the button at the top of the cylinder, hold over a rubbish bag and press a button at the bottom of the cylinder and it opens, a few shakes and t it is empty.
For the amount of suction, it isnt that noisy either. It has a release of the hande button so you can use it, this is done with your foot, it is the opposite side to the on/off button.
Overall it is an easy hoover to use, its suction is out of this world and I would highly reommend it.
Summary: Totally worth the money if you have pet hair
