I have had the miss fortune of a vortex, and a rubbish dyson, Ive gone back to using my hoover powerplus , it may be old but the cleaning power is great, (the powerplus replaced the senior in the mid 80's) it says something when a 22 year old hoover out lives new hoovers!!.

We have had this model for 4yrs now and have had 3 motors replaced (£50 each time) and 2 electrical faults. It always goes after the guarantee period and stinks the house out with burnt motor smell and leave black mark on the carpet. The Engineer said that this was a problem with this model but we still replaced it (cheaper than buying a new ... Read the complete review

When I moved in to my first (and current) flat 3 years ago I had precious little in the way of household appliances. The smaller things (kettles, toasters, irons etc) weren't too much of a problem but larger items like vacuum cleaners were significantly more expensive. So I borrowed my mums old Hoover. An old blue 'upright' ... Read the complete review

I normally buy cheap Hoovers, but I eventually got sick of replacing them, I’d pay about £50 for a Hoover and it would barely last a year. So I decided to buy a good quality Hoover, I heard about the Hoover Vortex, and it sounded perfect, as it’s a reliable name, and it’s perfect for people who suffer from dust allergies ... Having decided we needed a new Hoover, off to the shop I go to purchase my Dyson. Like most people, bagless hoovers are called a Dyson. My only hesitation was the replacement of the filters, required with a Dyson. The assistant was very helpful, and demonstrated the Dyson at my request, but also directed me in the direction of the Hoover Vortex ... Read the complete review

When I decided I was going to get an upright naturally I went into the shop looking for a Dyson but was pleasently surprised when I was shown to the Hoover Triple Vortex 2000. Unlike the Dyson it does not have expensive filters that you have to purchase every couple of months and the suction is quite amazing. When I put the hoover across my living ...
