I bought my Hoover Whirlwind bagless in April 2002 and I've exchanged it for two different machines since. Each machine had the same problem, which is an engineering problem: The power drive belt breaks repeatedly. I found that the power drive belt on each machine broke for at least three reasons. 1. If the dirt cannister is full, the power drive belt will break. Hoover customer service admitted this was possible. 2. If the vaccuum is set on the lowest carpet setting the belt will break.
