... and took back to the shop afterwards. I explained what was happening each use and complained about the design. It was not going to clean without pet hairs clogging up the tube each time and so it was pointless! They agreed to do a part exchange and I went for a DYSON!! I love my Dyson! AFK PS1600 ... a handle aren t connected already and I was scared initially that I may break the teeth on the interconnecting handle when I tried to push fit everything together; the plastic on the PS 1600 is flimsy and feels liable to break early on. The general performance of the AFK PS1600 is surprisingly good although with its variable suction control on its highest level, the AFK isn t as noisy as past Hoover models I ve had. Power wise, there is a lot of suction once the rotary dial has been turned up to its fullest. This is located just between the "small toe" off/on pedal and the cord rewind pedal. Hoover Hurricane HU4177T ... long ago I purchased this hoover from Next online, seeing as it was the Hoover make I thought I was on to a good thing, it cost £79.99 and was more trouble than it was worth. Good Points: The hoover is a lovely red colour and as a hoover looks very attractive to be sitting around your house inbetween chores. The hoover itself does have very good suction and easily picks up all the cat hairs, it seems a very powerful machine and appears to have more power behind it than some of my previous hoovers. Hoover U3525 ... having 2 dyson vacuum cleaners in the last 7 years I decided to purchase a cheaper one this time and see how it went. With 3 small children and a golden retriever and a navy blue carpet my vacuum cleaner is hard worked but a money was tight I decided to take a risk and buy a refurbished one from Ebay. After lots of research I finally decided on the Hoover U3525. It retailed around £100 but the reconditioned one I got for £35. I thought if I have to buy a new one every year then it would still be cheaper than buying a new dyson every 2 or 3 years.
