Hoover Discovery T6715 ... aquired a Hoover Discovery about a year ago. On first looks it was a good machine. The specs were in its favour and the colour wasn t too garish. The features included: 1700w Motor Turbobrush OnBoard Tools Cord Rewind Hepa Filter After I had plugged it in, I started cleaning. Now, we are not a mucky household, indeed, I collect vacuum cleaners and have used alot in my time. I cleaned the entire ground floor of the house and emptied the cleaner twice. This may be a good time to mention the bagless feature of this vaccum. It features an EcoBox, which is basically a non airtight box that keeps the dirt in and lets air pass through. Hoover DM4490 ... cleaning power of this machine is excellent with 4 settings depending on the thickness of carpet. It comes with all the usual attachments- 2 types of brushs, 2 extensions, approximatly 3 metres of hose and 6 metres of mains cable, which are all tucked neatly onto the back of the machine. Emptying and cleaning the bagless container is easy. Simply remove the front cover by pushing down the small lever on the front of the machine and remove the container. This needs to be cleaned every month by washing it out, then leaving it to dry for 24 hrs.The heppa filter ( underneith the container) also needs to be cleaned regularly in the same way. Hoover Vortex V2000 ... have had this model for 4yrs now and have had 3 motors replaced (£50 each time) and 2 electrical faults. It always goes after the guarantee period and stinks the house out with burnt motor smell and leave black mark on the carpet. The Engineer said that this was a problem with this model but we still replaced it (cheaper than buying a new vaccum) and the motor has now gone again !. We use it every week for about 25 minutes which I don't think it's excessive. We have decided to cut our loss and buy something else. So be warn ... ...
