As the entire house had really bad carpets I negotiated £1300 off the asking price as I needed to buy new carpets. BONUS as I own a carpet cleaner! Hoover S6155 Jet'n'Wash ... to moderate price and works well (or has the for the past few months), but now the bag is full, it may have reached the end of its life. Argos sells the cleaner but not the replacement dust bags (very convenient!!) ...and no where else does either. I've searched the net and found one site (possibly) that offers them. I rang the Hoover replacement parts helpline and they do offer them (five bags for about £5 PLUS £5 for postage). So if you're considering this machine (or any that isn't quite common) make sure you can get the replacement bags easily/cheaply/conveniently, or are willing to spend a lot of time, money and effort tracking them down. ... Hoover U5244 930 ... material). The cord retirieval device I drilled out and replaced with a short length of cord which you pull. None of this should be neccessary of course. WE also had to repair the handle at the head of the suction pipe. All of this is a real shame as the machine makes a good job and is really quiet compared to others. A good product let down by some very basic and obvious bad engineering - Hoover guys - expecting small plastic tabs to carry the whole load of foot operated swtiches is NOT a good idea! The same applies ot the top of the hose handle- A poor understanding of stress points and materials. This is almost like someone designed it and did not test a protot... Hoover F2200 ... bought this under some apprehension. After all if steam cleaners were really that great wouldn't everyone have one? Well, I think I know the reason why people don't buy them and that's because they prefer to have lots and lots of cleaning products and cloths under the sink! The first thing I did was to get the creases out of the living room curtains - they are a thick tapestry fabric and fully lined and I had better things to do than get them down to iron them after having hung them for the first time after mum delivered them (thanks for making them mum!).
