In my review on my JMB U3006 upright bagless vacuum cleaner you will find me making a few comparisons to the Dyson as this is the only other bagless vacuum cleaner I've ever owned. Well I have owned a Dco1, an upright bagless Dyson and a DC05, a cylinder bagless vacuum which I still own. The reason I had two was that my husband used to work for a company that supplied Dyson with parts, so I got mine cheap :o) After my first Dyson died on me my husband brought home a DC05 for me to try out. I do hate the DC05 as it is more bulky to store, plus the vacuum didn't have brushes on the tool attachments which I need as we are pet owners. Anyway after a couple of years of suffering the DC05 I decided I had had enough and decided to purchase a new cleaner, and as my husband had left his previous job I could no longer get one on the cheap. PURCHASING MY VACUUM ************************** So I looked through the Argos and decided on a Vacuum that I thought would be okay but wasn't too happy about as my Nan had owned a Dirt devil before and wasn't happy with it. So on my way to Argos I popped in Index and picked up their new catalogue and found a cleaner that was in my price range and seemed to be just the ticket. It was in the JMB range which seems to be a range of budget electrical goods Index has took hold of, it was an upright, bagless and a very snazzy coloured one, and it was priced up at £69.95, previously £79.99. DESCRIPTION ************* I had a read of the list and it had a 1400 watt motor, 6-stage filtration system, long wire and hose for easy cleaning, on-board tools, a light to indicate when it is full or blocked and a clear bin. So with all these additions I thought it was well worth a try. I got it home and it required a little self assembly such as the filter, hose clips etc all of which are clearly detailed in the book which comes with it, it took about 10 m
inutes all together to assemble and then it was ready to use. My carpet looked brand new again when it was up and running,AND NO MORE DOG HAIRS!!!!!YEAH. GOOD AND BAD POINTS ********************** My reasons for choosing this cleaner are the fact that I wanted another upright as it is easy to store, it was bagless, so no more worrying about buying bag’s, which is an extra expense, plus it was really cheap. But with all good things there are the bad, but you cant really call them bad. If you decide to buy a bagless vacuum cleaner you will notice that there are lots of filters, usually cloth or paper ones, so they will need changing and cleaning. I usually check and clean mine every other time I empty the bucket. With this vacuum the filters are reusable ones so you need to check on it to make sure that the dust hasn’t built up in it. Also as it is a cheaper model the tool’s haven’t got the quality that the dyson had, but they still do the trick and my carpets haven’t looked this good in years. CONCLUSION ************* I have had my vacuum cleaner now for a few months with no problems up to now, except for a few bruises due to the hose not being very long. Each time I try and do the stairs the vacuum topples over banging my on the back of the legs, but I’ve sorted that problem out now by leaning it against the wall. But my floors are clean, it stores away easily, it was a great bargain and even if lasts me only a year or two I’ll have had my moneys worth out of it as my Dyson didn’t have a long life anyway.

J.M.B C2005 is a cylinder vacuum cleaner, is looks a bit like the Dyson but it is a lot cheaper. I was having a bad day my back was hurting and I was fed up with struggling with my old vacuum, the suction was poor, the end was held together with tape and the on/off switch didn’t work. I decided that it was time to part with my old vacuum and invest in another one. I had a look through a LittleWoods catalogue to see how much a Dyson vacuum would be, they were a little out of our price range as my partner had already said that I could only have £150.00 to spend on a new vacuum. I came across J.M.B C2005 is it looked great. It was £119.99; it was metallic purple with a clear part in the middle like the Dyson so you could see all of the dirt that was being sucked up. It was a bag less vacuum so I didn’t have to spend any extra money buying replacement bags. SPECIFICATION Model number C2005 Input power 1400w Filtration: Hepa filters class central filter Accessories Chrome telescopic tubes Upholstery brush Upholstery tool Crevice tool PARTS IDENTIFICATION Floor attachment Extension tube Container tube Container full indicator Handle Flexible hose Cable rewind button Dust container Crevice and brush tool storage Dust container catch Carry handle Filter outlet Accessories Crevice tool Upholstery tool Upholstery brush I was really excited when it came, I gave the delivery man a great big smile, took it straight into the house and then I ripped open the box and started to assemble it. It looked very stylish and modern. I read through all of the instructions, set it all up and then I switched it on. I had never enjoyed vacuuming so much, this vacuum, made it so much easier. I used it to clean the lounge but then I put it away, as I was busy. I got it out the next day and I thought that I would go all the
way through the house upstairs and downstairs and get the vacuuming out of the way. I was just about to plug it in when I noticed that all the plastic had split between the floor attachment and the extension tube. Never mind I thought, I’d just have to be a little more careful with it have now on. I started to vacuum the front room, but after about 10 minutes the cut out. In the instructions booklet it said that to avoid over heating the vacuum would cut out sometimes and that you should switch off the power and empty the bag. Then check that nothing is stuck, so I checked the bag and made sure there was nothing stuck inside the tubes. Everything seemed all right so I switched it off and made a drink while it cooled down. I switched it back on and everything seemed fine then after about 5 minutes it cut off again. I emptied the dust bag which wasn’t even a quarter full yet. I couldn’t believe it some dust had gone in to the dust container but some dust was just lying inside the vacuum, it had not even made it into the dust container. I cleaned it all out and put it all back together checking that everything was secure and in it’s place. (An hour later) I switched it back on again hoping that I could least get one room done before my partner arrived home. The power cut off again, I was really mad now, I thought that I would now check the filter to make sure that that was working all right. I pulled it slightly and ........... I couldn’t believe it; it broke off in my hands. You can imagine how mad I was now; I’d had enough. I decided to leave it until the next day. The next day I got the vacuum out of the cupboard; I smacked its pipe and told it that it had better behave today. The filter lid kept blowing off because the clip holding it on had broken so I got some sticky tape and stuck it back down. All I wanted to do was vacuum the lounge I wasn’t asking for much. I switched the vacuum on and before I c
ould finish the room the power cut out again, THAT WAS IT. I took it all back apart wrote a list of things down that I was unhappy about, taped the box up and sent it back. I can tell you all now that I will never be buying a product from J.M.B again. You may think that I am being a bit harsh but my old vacuum is 5 years old. I get the vacuum out and then I have my daughter switching it on and off at the wall, my son sitting on it has I am trying to drag it around the floor and my dog attacking the brush on the end of it. The J.M.B didn’t know it was born I didn’t let the kids or the dog near it. I’ll give it 2 stars because this vacuum may be of use to someone, but not a family like mine. If you live on your own, work all day and only vacuum once a week then maybe this vacuum would be able to get you by, but if you want my advice THUMBS DOWN. I am waiting to hear from J.M.B, I have refused their offer of them sending me another one and them getting the one that they sent me fixed.
