Advantages: as stated in my review MEDICALY APROOVED
Disadvantages: can be a little heavy
the kirby hoover is as stated "the best on the market". These little monsters have been around since 1914 and and were invented by an english man named james kirby. They are now produced by the scottsfetzer company in ohio america where they have been since day one of production. The company is now owned by warren buffet one of the richest men in the world .
The machine is made of light weight dicast aluminium and packs a measly 600 watt sealed motor (dysons etc have and average 1200 watt motor) this means no dust can get in to the motor meaning no loss of suction and longer life of the motor the bag wich comes with these hoovers is known as a hepper 11 meaning they have 11 layers of hepper filter per bag (dyson has 1) this filters dust down to 0.1 of a micron (a strand of hair is 3 microns wide) this is allso the reason that this hoover is medicaly sertified to help with asthema and skion conditions this is allso due to the machine beeing able to clean to a depth of 12 inch wich means this cleans all the way through your matress i allso hear that if you call irn bru (the pop company) and say you spilt irn bru on your carpet they advise you to have a home demo from a kirby rep and ask them to clean the carpet it is on

- 01/03/08 Welcome to the Household Appliances section of Dooyoo. It would be beneficial to actually add in your experience rather than state a lot of baloney against Dyson. Buyers are no strangers to Kirby machines - they are great for American homes or hotels where their size can be advantageous. There are a few errors in your review which need to be updated. Little monsters? The Kirby series is physically the biggest upright on the market.
Also the suction has nothing to do with whether the dirt leaks to the motor - ALL DYSONS have a clean fan system and the suction is maintained by the cyclone properties.
Kirbys on the other hand have a dirty fan system which means more tear and wear when dirt hits the fan before it gets to the bag.
Most premium priced vacuums are hospital certified including Miele and Sebo but they are far more practical than a Kirby and have a reliability record second to none.
Also it is called HEPA not hepper. So perhaps if you shed some of your actual experience of the machine counting weight, gliding, suction and general use, it would be of benefit to Dooyoo. If you update your review let me know. Nar2
