Advantages: Brilliant machine
Disadvantages: Heavy sales pitch
I agree that the tatics Kirby use are awful!! They knock on your door offering you a free carpet shampoo, then they arrange an appointment and come aand try and sell you a Kirby!!! Normally the sales pitch lasts about 3 hours!! My boyfriend worked for Kirby for about 2 months!! At first he thought it was brilliant!! The offer excellent pay. The first couple of weeks were amazing!!! But when he had to start going into people homes, he hated the fact that they didn't know what was coming!! As my boyfriend doesn't like to rip people off he shampoo their hole carpet, and not just one area! He also tried to get out as soon as possible if the customer wasn't interested!! But the managers want you to phone them when you start and when you finish!! Your supposed to be there for 2 hours at least!! He managed to stick it out for 5 weeks I think. The hours were ridiculous!! He had to work from 9am until 10pm some nights and this wa 6 days a week. Then he quit. Kirby had promised him £600 for the training!! He did complete the training!! And we never saw any money!!!! He got paid £200 whilst working there, but we never saw the other £400!!! We phoned them on numerous occasions, and they just said they'd ask the accountants and get back to us-which they never did!!! Anyway, about the machine!!!!! I cannot fault it!! It is amazing, however very overpriced at just under £2000!!! It does now have a tech drive function, which reduces the problem of it being heavy, however it tended to keep running over my feet!!! It still doesn't get rid of the problem of trying to get it upstairs!! I'm 19 and I found it hard!! Apart from that it's brilliant and my house was spotless whilst my boyfriend was working there!! I'd reccomend one if you have lots of time and money!!!!

- 22/08/05 Here's a tip. Buy a Kirby off Ebay. Never buy one for more than 900 quid new. You can buy a Kirby under 500 quid and will never need to buy another 'hoover' again (for the rest of your life).
Fortuna te for me, I never had a Kirby salesman over! |

- 26/03/03 I'm not sure any hoover is worth £2K no matter how good it is!
This is not a bad review but would benefit from more detail about the product itself. The advice to read around is good, and feel free to contact me via my profile page if you need any further help.

- 22/03/03 So, it's £2,000 now is it?
I have this game I play with Kirby. They come and try to sell me their machine every 5 years or so and I try to guess what the price is this year! 20 years ago it was £800.
I'm sorry but there isn't a vacuum on Earth that's worth £2,000. |
