Advantages: Demo was impressive
Disadvantages: Hard Sell Tactics
I had the misfortune for the Kirby Sales Team to hit my area a while ago and made the fatal mistake of opening the door. "Could you give me 15 minutes" was the opening shot and then proceeded to launch through their speil. One and a half hours later I finally managed to get rid of the pair of them. The sales pitch had become increasingly more intense and hostile. I finally needed to be bloody rude to get them out of the door, without a sale. I am a mature adult quite capable of making decisions of what I will spend my money, I do not appreciate presure selling from anyone and definitely do not like being mocked over my choice of household products. It would be a 'cold day in hell' before I will admit any representative from this company into my house or brought their product. The demonstration they gave showed the machine in its best light and was quite impressive but I feel not worth the money and certainly not worth being insulted because my choice of cleaner was not a Kirby.

- 22/08/05 Once again, a review of a product of which you do not own, or have owned. Pls review the actual product and not the sale. Funny. I never seen a Hoover review detailing the long line at Argos, etc. |

- 12/03/02 Well done, this is the most overpriced hoover ever. David ;-) |

- 05/03/01 I had the same problem some years ago and, like you, had to become almost violently rude to get the salesmen out of the house.
I had insanely ignored my normal policy of never buying or listening to a salesman of any type ringing the doorbell - I've never done it since.
Personal recommendation, such as that featured on the dooyoo site, is the best way to learn of quality products or services. |
