Kirby (G6) home cleaning system- The kirby was a brilliant buy and well worth the money,£1500 (approx 10 years ago). It's not just an expensive vacuum cleaner, there is a lot more to it than that. Where shall i start?! Ok, it vacuums my carpets and (on the lower setting) the wooden floor. When u accidentally vacuum something larger ... Read the complete review

I have never heard anything good about Kirby's sales approach, I'm sure it works OK for the american market, but the british who tend to work on a more suspicous level when it comes to high pressure commision driven sales people is never going to work, we don't like all this good morning sir are you having a nice day by the way that's ... If you see the Kirby and you don't buy it you are a filthy pig !! The salesman proved to me in 10 minutes it would get ALL the dirt out of my carpets, that I paid $6000 for. I for one don't want to buy new carpets ever 7-12 years when my kirby will keep them clean and stop them from wearing out. The machine cleans my kids mattresses of ... Read the complete review

My parents have a Kirby. Big, heavy monster it is. But in a house with two kids and a mud-loving labrador, it worked better than the alternatives. They only stopped using it because it was too heavy. The weight alone put me off buying one for a few years - but when we bought a house that had been used as a builder's crash ... Read the complete review

I used to sell Kirby vacuums.... just for a short period-- 2 weeks. But that was long enough for me to learn all about their tricks and scams. I was taught to try to sell the Kirby at around $1700- $1900. BUT, the price could be negotiable down to about $900!!!!! So, to let everyone know out there, interested in buying a KIRBY, ... The Kirby... ...Vacuum cleaner of folklore. Can it be true? A domestic cleaner costing over £2000? Who'd pay that? Do you know anyone who has one? Yup - me! I agree that the tatics Kirby use are awful!! They knock on your door offering you a free carpet shampoo, then they arrange an appointment and come aand try and sell you a Kirby!!! Normally the sales pitch lasts about 3 hours!! My boyfriend worked for Kirby for about 2 months!! At first he thought it was brilliant!! The offer ... Read the complete review

We suffered the kirby experience, but fought off the salesmen after about three and a half hours ! This was about 5 years ago and I hear they have not changed (although they are now even more desperate to sell). I will say now and up front, I would rather suck the bed bugs out of my matress with my own lungs than ever have ... Read the complete review

Many of the existing opinions are about the sales pitch rather than the machine itself and since I was given mine I thought an opinion unbiased by the feelings of having spent an inordinate amount of money on a vacuum cleaner might be useful. The Kirby was passed on to me by my ageing Aunt who found it impossible to use because ... Read the complete review

The Kirby vacuum cleaner is made in Cleveland Ohio in USA and imported to Reditch in Britain by the Kirby Company. That is virtually their only dealing with the sales of the product in the UK. The machine is basically a vacuum cleaner (+ hose attachments) that can be transformed to shampoo, polish, spray, sand etc (and on ... Read the complete review

Ok- these guys are sharks. I quit after a few days as do most sane people. No one here had been with the company more than 2 and a half months. It's a scare sell and works in (amazingly enough) 1 out of 3 homes. The sale is made in the bedroom when they vacuum your matress. It is hugely overpriced which allows them to play with the ... My mum bought one of these, so I can't really comment on the selling techniques of the Kirby Sales Team. What I can say however is about the practicalities of the machine, it sucks like hell! In a good way, that is. The wheels of the cleaner are actually driven by a motor. Such is it's power that it practically sticks ... Read the complete review

I too am one of those for whom the prospect of having peace and quiet restored to my household cost me a vacuum cleaner way over the odds of which I was prepared to spend on a replacement. I had the misfortune for the Kirby Sales Team to hit my area a while ago and made the fatal mistake of opening the door.
