Advantages: Sucks hard. Two turbo brushes included. Built tough.

Disadvantages: Pricey. Hose is short.

Bought the Miele Cat and Dog 2200W model with two turbo brushes included. I've seen various other models with slight more or less wattage and with or without the second turbo brush. Price ranges within the £200 mark.

The wife and I hmmmed and hawwwed about it comparing it to a similarly priced Dyson. But when I realised that using the Dyson was like working my kid's Transformers toys, I decided against it. The Dyson felt rickety and gimmicky.

The suction power of this vacuum sets it apart from the last Electrolux and Hoover I owned. Variable power settings allow you to run a bit quieter when suction power isn't needed to max levels.

A large carpet Turbo brush uses suction power to spin, but sounds as menacing as an electrically powered brush. A smaller half size turbo brush was included as well. On max power, both of these "stick" to the rug in the room with the short pile rug.

The vacuum uses bags, which might sounds contrary to what is sold all over the TV, but after having two bagless cleaners, I can tell you it ain't glamourous when you're inhaling dust and dirt when you are trying to empty the darn thing. I just changed the first full bag and suction levels returned back to their original levels.

Filters are heavy duty for both the motor and exhaust. I've apparently got a "Hepa" filter which I guess is good. I've read reviews from people stating Miele's own warranty provides these filters and bags free of extra charge.

After my purchase I went online to verify the wisdom of my buy. About 60% of the Dyson reviews I read ran positive, but not a single Miele owner had a complaint. I think I made the right choice.

Summary: Finally a vacuum that sucks in a good way
