Great quality and suction
Member Name: joodle
Advantages: Simple to use, picks up everything, neat and compact
Disadvantages: Needs bags
I was given this vacuum cleaner by my mum, who got it free from the developers when she moved in to a brand new apartment. Since then I've used it upstairs in our house as I have a Dyson upright downstairs.
The cylinder style of this vacuum is much preferable for the upstairs as it's so manoeverable, in particular when vacuuming the stair carpet. It's very much a no-nonsense cleaner because the operation of it is so simple and easy - it does exactly what it says on the tin!
The bags are easy to change, though this is obviously one of the downsides of this king of cleaner as opposed to a Dyson - you do need to buy bags for it. The extra tools for upholstery and small places are kept inside the body of the vacuum cleaner which is extremely handy.
The power and suction are excellent and I really do feel that it picks up just about anything from the carpets and wooden floors. I have long hair and it has no problem picking this up from the carpets, while some vacuum cleaners seem to just skim over the top. It's the first Miele I've had and I'm very impressed with it to the extent that if I was replacing my Dyson upright, I would seriously be looking at the Miele uprights for downstairs too.
Summary: Great vacuum!
