Advantages: It cleans, it's quiet, durable, reliable, easy storage, light.

Disadvantages: None yet! (Maybe the price!!)

====The Item====

I have a black Miele S5221 full size vacuum cleaner, which I just received today with great anticipation. Even though it's full size and not "compact" it is not as big as their older models (my mother in law has one which is 15 years old). It is 2200W and goes as low as 300 W for delicate furnishings. It comes with a standard floor head and three "on board" tools - a crevice tool (useful), a round brush and an attachment for soft furnishings (both of which I haven't used yet). It has a 10m electric cable so you can hoover upstairs too (depending on your house of course!) and is very quiet until you put it on maximum when it becomes a bit louder. It is still much quieter than my previous vacuum cleaner.

It has three wheels underneath making it easy to manouver, and a fully rotating suction hose which also makes movement easy. It uses bags, which are a cleaner way of disposing of waste to a bagless vacuum, and has a motor filter and an air filter, both of which are supplied when you purchase a box of 5 bags (cheapest i've found so far is about £7.23 from Miele website itself with free delivery!). It makes for a cleaner system in my opinion. I paid £133.33 from Hughes Direct including delivery.

====My Experience====

I was so so so pleased with the result - it does what a vacuum is supposed to do - clean!!! I have been though so many cheaper cleaners that have just given up just after the warranty had run out that I got fed up with this type of cleaner, and wondered if there were any vacuum cleaners out there that would actually clean. THIS DOES! It is easy to manouvre, is quiet, and you can store the metal hose on either side of the cleaner for tidy, compact, and efficient storage.

====My Verdict====

Basically, it cleans which is what you ultimately want from a vacuum cleaner, and although I haven't had it for a year as yet, i'm sure it will last a good deal longer than that! Because it cleans I don't mind getting bags for it, as I think it makes a much cleaner and efficient system!

Summary: A vacuum cleaner that cleans, in my opinion, worth the money!

Good review - for buyers though it would be good to add in info about its weight, filtration and quality. Bargain price for a Miele though, they are one of the best around and their newer HyClean bags last longer too.

£133.33 is surely a small rice to pay for a good vacuuming experience :) Good review!
