Advantages: Effective, Light, Quiet

Disadvantages: None

I bought this machine today after having a disastrous experience with a Sanyo machine and I can honestly say I made the right decision.

Firstly (though not very important!) I like the colour of this machine - a pale green. I also like the fact that it is very light, which is important when you have to lug it upstairs.

The machine is very quiet when in use - there are variable power controls - a low speed for curtains, another speed for upholstery, one more for hard floors and another one for carpets. The machine comes with three floor heads - a Turbo head which is excellent for picking up those loose pieces of cotton that get stuck to the carpet, a normal head which can be used for carpets and hard floors and a parquet floor head which can be used for ceramic tiled floors etc. These are extremely easy to fit - they just click into place.

The tools are all stored very neatly on board - you just press a button and the lid flips up and there they are. You get an upholstery tool, a crevice tool and a small brush tool.

The on/off switch can be activated by a light touch of the foot - so no more bending down to turn the machine on. There is also another switch you can operate with your foot, which automatically rewinds the cord when you have finished using the machine.

The machine has a dustbag which is also easily accessible and is self-closing, so apparently when you remove it no dust escapes and you stay clean when changing it! There is also a filter which is very easy to replace - in the same compartment as the dustbag. The machine comes with a dustbag and filter fitted and also comes with a spare dustbag too.

I have used this machine today and was very impressed - it glides along very easily and picks everything up. Most importantly, it is light and quiet. It is not the cheapest of machines but Miele have a very good reputation for quality and this machine certainly fits the bill.

Another bonus w
as that the machine came with a coupon to send in and claim a free car cleaning kit worth £40 so that was an added extra!

You will find that the German brands such as Miele, Sebo and Bosch have outstanding quality and reliability records, though with a large price tag! You review needs a bit more detail though, such as what the vacuum is like to use, and some technical specifications. Welldone though :-)

My much loved Philips vacuum has just gone to hoover heaven, and I was thinking about replacing it with a Miele. I'm a little concerned about the new bags though, they appear to be made of some kind of sythetic cloth, surely this is very eco-unfriendly (presumably they're not biodegradable) in comparison with the normal brown paper bags.

This rating is absolutely true. I have exactly the same machine and it is fantastic.
