i have had this vacuum for a while now i used to have a dyson this is alot better than the dyson i had and its the best hoover i have ever had .my nan recommended it to me .it has different height settings and suction power settings and when its on full power it will pick up anything and everything. the hose is long enough and if you attach the pipe you can manage to hoover the entire stairs with it . the crevice tool is also good along with the the tool with the brush one which can be used to give the sofa a good hoover and curtains ect . it is bagless which saves buying bags and it comes with two filters so all you have to do is shake the dust out give it a rinse and leave to dry so you can use the other filter whilst the other is drying out . great hoover at a very good price
At long last a new vacuum cleaner! Over the past couple of months doing the hoovering in my house has been more of an exercise rather than real cleaning. My old vacuum cleaner still looked good and sounded good but that was it, it just didn't pick up any more. Time for a new one.
As with most people we still have a dent in our savings after Christmas so we decided to buy a new vacuum on a budget. After trailing many shops we decided the one offering the best performance with the best price was the Morphy Richards Cyclonic Bagless 1900W Upright Vacuum Cleaner. At £64.99 from Currys we felt this was a good deal for the features this cleaner was offering.
*Bagless Cyclone Technology
*Removable 2.7 litre dust container
*4 to 1 Stretch Hose
*Ergonomic Loop Handle
*On Board Tool Storage
*7m Cable with Storage
*Floor Type Height Adjustment
*2 Year Guarantee
Neatly packaged within polystyrene in a colourful box picturing the vacuum cleaner. The cleaner was very easily removed from the packaging. Included with the cleaner was a spare dust filter, which you can use whilst the other one is being washed and also a spare belt, which I thought was really good! So often has my belt broken when the shops are closed or when I'm in a hurry to get the cleaning done, it's good to know you have a spare one to hand, just have to make sure I put it somewhere I will remember!!
Minimal assembly needed, basically attaching the handle to the main body of the cleaner using 2 screws supplied and attaching the tools to the back of the cleaner. Now we are ready to go.
This vacuum cleaner is a dark silver colour with a purple hose and a clear purple window where the dust compartment is. On the front of the cleaner is a dial to select what surface you would like to clean, the options are:
Wood and Laminate
Short Pile Carpet and Vinyl
This dial is easy to manoeuvre and does make a real difference to the suction power depending on the surface. There is also a sliding button for controlling the power of the suction, I usually tend to keep it at the maximum. Also to the front of the cleaner is the door where the bagless dust unit is removed. This is easily removed and easy to empty and clean. The dust filter can be washed and left to dry again before use.
To the back of the cleaner are 2 hose pipe attachments, with a nozzle attachment and a brush attachment, which are all neatly clipped into the back of the cleaner. The release pedal is at the bottom, releasing the cleaner from the upright position. Also on the back is a great little carry handle half way down, which I find very useful. The power switch is situated on the left hand side of the cleaner.
Overall I would rate this vacuum cleaner quite highly, probably giving it 8/10. This is my first bagless cleaner and I like the fact that the dust container is easy to clean. I like washing the dust filter, I feel it stops the build up of dust and helps to stop it circulating as much whilst cleaning. I like the loop handle at the top, it's really easy to hold and you don't seem to have to push and pull quite as harder. I also find the carry handle on the back really useful, not being very tall I always had great difficulty carrying the vacuum up and down stairs but this handle makes it very easy to carry. The different settings are great too. I have both laminate flooring and carpets in my house and it does make a difference changing the setting. Although this cleaner has great suction and quite good power it glides easily across the carpet but still pulls the pile up really well.
What I don't like about this machine is the weight, at 8.9kg it is quite heavy. The only other fault I can find, which is quite petty, is once you have released the cleaner from the upright position it doesn't lock into another position, it just goes right down flat to the ground, so whilst hoovering, if you want to perhaps bump up onto a rug you have to lock it back into the upright position, I hope this makes sense!! LOL.
Overall I would recommend this vacuum cleaner for it's cleaner properties, it gives a good performance and is easy to use. I don't have pets so can't comment on it's pet cleaning powers, but it is fairly powerful.
