Henry.

We have Henry waiting in the garage.
Henry is our plumber / bathroom fitters vacuum cleaner. I use another Henry at work and have written recently about his brother George.
Henry is Made by Numatic, I am not sure when the first Henry was born but this model has been available for a long time.

Henry is a large canister vacuum cleaner with a face. Our Henry is red also comes in black blue yellow and green.

This vacuum cleaner is used in many schools and offices it is a robust cleaner. Ours at school is quite old and I have not heard of our caretaker having to take it to be repaired.
Quite heavy at 6.6 kg Henry is not easy to use on the stairs and cumbersome with its long nozzles to carry up them.
Henry is quite easy to pull over the carpets as you clean.

Unless you have a large storage space this machine is difficult to store

One of the things I like about this machine is its long hose. Henry has good suction and makes our well-worn school carpets clean, picks up nearly all the debris left by the children.

The electric cord is quite long in most rooms you need not change the plug to another electric socket to reach the entire carpet. I do find winding the cord up a drag as there is no automatic cord rewind.

I cannot comment about the dirt bag, as it is not my job to change them, there is no bag full indicator on the machine,

I think Henry is fine for school but not really one for my home I get by with a lighter cleaner.

I have seen Henry priced from £78 upwards seems a reasonable price for a robust cleaner that is efficient and lasts well.

Below is the manufacturers spec if you are interested.

- 1100 watt motor
- Hi/Lo rocker variable suction power switch
- 9 litre dirt bag with additional filtration levels
- A “commercial grade” filter system, usually known as “Permatex.”
- 8.5 metre power cord.
- Manual winder cord retrieval mechanism
- 2 way universal floor head.
- Upholstery tool
- Small stair tool
- Crevice tool
• Crush proof stainless steel tubes, 2 piece and additional curved tube
- Adaptor tool
- Weight at 6.6kg

Summary: An office vacuum cleaner large and robust

I've never seen a vacuum cleaner with a face! I don't think there are any in Germany. :-(

Call me shallow, but I'd opt for a Henry over anything simply because of the cute face of the machine!

We used to have one of these in a bus depot I worked in - it was pretty good!

Cheers

Sweary.
