Advantages: entertains the kids, strong suction even after a year, long hose, long lead

Disadvantages: nowhere to store accessories-minor inconvenience though!

I am jinxed when it comes to vacuum cleaners. i have been through countless makes trying to find one that could cope with my house-all the others seemed to give up the ghost after a few months. I tried a bagless, but it lost its suction very quickly. my husband tried to convince me to get an upright dyson, but i couldnt bear to spend the money and being short i dont really get on with them.

I ended up trying my mums henry-as she is neurotic about cleaning she wouldnt keep a rubbish vacuum. I loved it, and was a little swayed by the fact that it entertained my toddler at the same time, who had taken to calling it noonoo! my nan also had problems and ended up getting a henry. We've all had them over a year (my mum for 2) and are all so happy with them.

They're reliable, have a good set of accessories-i got a round dust brush, a thin narrow one and a long rectangular upholstery brush, although nowhere to store them, admittedly, i have to keep mine under my sink and fetch them when i need them, but aside from that i love my vacuum!! it picks up big lumps of dirt and still stays strong.

The Henry original weighs 6.6kg, and i find that its compact enough to be easy to carry around with one hand, as it has a lift up plastic carry handle on the top. The cord rewind is manual, there is a rotary action on top of the vacuum, which is smooth and light to use, and once wound keeps is secure.

The vacuum is top heavy, as the motor is in the black lid of it. when changing the bag there is a black clip either side that you have to pull out and then the whole black part lifts off completely. there is a big filter that lifts out separately and under that is where the bag is fitted. It's a really simple action, just pull the bag back, away from the protruding part of the hose that sits inside the bag slightly and the fresh bag slides on. There is a rubber ring around the bags entrance to prevent it from slipping.

I think this vacuum works so well as it is a simple design-so has less fiddly insides to break down.

I did shop about a bit for mine, as the price varies a fair bit from shop to shop-i ended up paying £95 with 5 free bags and a henry beach ball!

Summary: my whole family loves henry!

A good update of info here, would now be good to add in experience of the actual performance, just getting around with Henry, noise levels and if it can be used on both carpets and hard floors.

Welcome to Dooyoo. A good start here but your review could be more developed adding in weight, ease of changing a bag, use of smaller tools (anywhere to store them for example?)

If you update your review let me know. Nar2
