Advantages: lightweight

Disadvantages: Bag capacity

Everyone probably recognises the beaming smiling vacuums also knows as Henry. There are manufactured by a British company 'Numatic' and much like the 'Mini' this vaccum is small, compact and simple in design. They cost around £89.99 if i recall correctly and also come in a pink design called 'Hetty'.

We have owned one of these now for a while and although it is a very simplistic design, it is ideal for our needs as my mom has a bad back so lugging a heavy vacuum up and down the stairs isn't ideal. We have a dyson to do the larger carpeted area but this vacuum is perfect for cleaning the stairs, under beds and in general hard to reach areas. With that said although it is very light and nimble it can get tiresome using as it doesn't slide as easily across the carpet as a regular stand up vacuum would.

The design is that of the old 'bag' style so emptying it can be annoying, however it does hold a fair amount of content and the lid unscrews very easily to reveal the bag. The bag is then very easy to refit. The vacuum comes with a number of accessory ends in order to do all kinds of furniture and carpeted area. The best part of all is the lead winds away easily using a manual handle, it takes little effort to turn it and the leads fits away nicely.

Being such a small vacuum it can be stored away in the tightest of spaces and easy to carry around the house if need be. What's more it is a simple quality design and so i don't think it will break down and if it did (touch wood) it would be cheap to fix, especially because the parts are produced in the UK. We owned a Vax before this and although a very good vacuum in terms of performance it would often break so bear that in mind when buying a vacuum.

Lastly, at 1200w this vacuum is powerful enough to clean up everything, as it makes contact with the floor it gets a much better clean in comparison to the stand up vacuum which is slightly raised from the floor. Cat hairs come up easily.

Summary: A good vacuum for those people who can't or don't want to lug around heavy vacuums

Good review. Henry machines have suction only floor heads (unless they have turbo heads like the Henry Hound model) so they are idea on hard flooring - but on carpets they suffer compared to an upright. A bit more info on Noise and filtration would be good as well as coping with even smaller cleaning tasks thanks to its smaller tools.
