Advantages: Easy to move around, not too expensive, compact, durable.
Disadvantages: None so far.
In the university accomadation that I am currently staying in, residents are provided with one of these Henry Hoovers so that they can keep their rooms nice and clean. My review therefore is based on my experiences using Henry to clean my own floor, and I must say overall I am very impressed. At home we have only ever had Dyson cleaners, so it's nice to experience something different.
I think the really unique selling point with Henry is his design, and also the fact that the manufacturers have taken advantage of the design, and turned him into a recognisable character. Henry is very easy to move around, being compact and rounded with fully revolving wheels. He has a handy handle on top, and although not light, is certainly not impossible to lift. The main metal tube that connects the head of the hoover to the plastic piping detatches very easily, and he comes decorated with a happy little face too!
The key thing people want to know when buying a vacuum is "What's the suction like?" and I have to say that Henry is very good at completely cleaning the carpet to the point that there is incredibly little visible debris. This cleaner also seems unprone to blockages, as long as you use your common sense when it comes to larger particles. But I must say I have been very impressed with the strength of the suction, it is not much different to our greatly more expensive dyson at home.
Another key feature of the design of Henry is the wind up cable. It is far better when the cable is contained within the cleaner than tied around a plastic knob on the handle as is the case with many more traditional vacuums. Henry does not have automatic cable realing like a Dyson, put on his top is a wind up handle that you wind with your hand, and this draws the cable back into the hoover unit. This is quite good really, because I have found that often the automatic cable realers give up after a while, and you have to feed the cable in to the unit by hand. This manual system is easy, and has little chance of failing.
The best thing about Henry Hoovers is the price, they are around £90, which in my opinion is an excellent price for such an efficient little hoover. The Dyson handheld, which is a far less substantial unit is practically the same price!
Definately a thumbs up from me!
Summary: Highly recommended by me!
