Advantages: Easy to get round cabinets, and under sofa
Disadvantages: Pipes come loose, brush broke after 18 months
I first purchased a Henry when i moved into my new house 18 months ago. I paid about £80 for it, as stand up dysons etc cost over £100, i thought this was a bargain.
I bought this on amazon and i am very pleased with the performance of this product. I had been borrowing my mums upright dyson when i first moved in, and as i have wooden floors all down stairs, i found this type of hoover too heavy to use on the floor, and also i couldnt get round the cabinets of anything.
With the henry, i can get under my sofa, under the tv stand, under the nest of tables, around the fish tank, it is so handy!
I have a cat and i have to hoover my house, and especially my sofa every single day. I find when hoovering the sofa, when you go over it only once there are still traces of cat hair. You really have to go over it a few times with the pipe to actually get the cat hairs up. So to clean the sofa, it is actually quite hard work and really makes your arms ache!
It is perfect on my wooden floors though, it just glides across the floor so easily and doesnt scratch anything. It just works so effortlessly, and the pipe is so light to use. You can just disconnect the head and use the pipe to hoover skirting boards, curtains, blinds, cobwebs etc.
I find this hoover has a very long cable length, but the hoover does not reach the top of my stairs. I dont mean the length of the cable, i mean the actual hose doesnt reach the top, and i have to take the henry upstairs to finish the top.
As i hoover every single day downstairs, i have to change this bag about every three weeks. The bags are priced at roughly £4 for a pack of 5 and are non reusable. I wouldnt like to try and empty a bag anyway id rather chuck them away!
I find upright hoovers easier to store, than the henry. Although the actual hoover is compact, it is the pipe and hose which always gets in the way!
This hoover is not as loud as others hoovers i have heard, but not silent either! My cat happily sits in the room with me while im using it, with my mums dyson she was terrifed!
You can control the speed of this hoover on the brush, it has a high and low setting. I usually just use the low setting on my wooden floors, and high on the sofa and carpets.
I find sometimes when im hoovering, the pipes come loose and come apart, they are sometimes hard to put back together, they feel like they dont fit tight enough and will come apart again when you are using it.
After 18 months, the brush head broke on mine. It wouldnt spin round the right way and i ended up having to replace it.
This hoover comes with a 2 year manufacturers warranty, i should have complained to them about the brush instead of just going out buying one myself!
Overall, i love this hoover, its light weight, does the job and so easy to use!
Summary: A great hoover
