Time to bin! (Panasonic MC 593 Icon)
Member Name: stephen_guy
Advantages: stylish, hi-tech Disadvantages: easily clogged, inferior attachments , flexible hose
As far as vacuum cleaners go, the Panasonic MCE593 looks good both on paper and in the show room: variable dust sensor, HEPA filter, bagless system, 1600 watts, I really thought I had bought the right one. Sadly looks can be deceiving and after just 4 weeks of usage the vacuum cleaner wouldn't suck properly and the pre-filter wiper brushes stopped rotating. The power cord retractor also failed to retract properly. I returned the machine to Comet who kept it for a further 4 weeks before returning it, partially repaired. (I tried to get my money back but they refused). In my opinion, the design of the MCE593 leaves a lot to be desired. Not only do the filters get blocked with alarming regularity, the angle at which the suction pipe connects to the upright makes it prone to blockage too. The clean-air filter cover is now attractively taped to the body with sticky-tape as the plastic lugs have broken-off. I won't be buying another Panasonic vacuum cleaner and after just 18 months I am looking to replace it. Summary: |
