Advantages: Easy to empty. automatically adjusts head height for different surfaces
Disadvantages: Short power cord. Thermal cut out very sensitive
Having previously tried a dyson upright, we were pursuaded to purchase this Panasonic bagless upright as a replacement.
It is probably the most troublesome vacuum cleaner I have ever owned.
A circlip came off the wheel axle within the first month of owning the cleaner, & the cleaner was reluctantly replaced by the high street store due to being one day past the date at which the store is responsible. After 30 days, Panasonic themselves are responsible & you have to return the product to them or their service centre, it seems!
The cleaner itself is very efficient when first used. however, with the number of filter stages involved in it, it has to be regularly thoroughly cleaned in order that the thermal cutout does not activate every time you use it. You then have to wait 40 minutes before you can try again & carry on cleaning. It is easy to clean with washable filters, but a pain to have to do it almost every time you use the appliance.
The power cord is very short & you have to keep moving it to another electrical socket in order to clean any further than one room.
My other comment would be that the accesory hose is too short also, & having a concertina effect means that the suction usually shortens the hose even further during operation 'sucking' the entire cleaner towards you instead while under load!
Summary: Too many filters, too sensitive to overheating, & too short a power lead
